The National Conference on Applied Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence, organized by the Department of Mathematics at Amar Telidji University of Laghouat, aims to bring together researchers, academics, and students interested in the fields of applied mathematics and artificial intelligence.

The contemporary world is experiencing rapid progress in artificial intelligence technologies, largely grounded in the theoretical foundations of applied mathematics, which plays a fundamental role in driving innovation in this area. Mathematical methods provide essential tools for data analysis, modeling complex phenomena, and designing efficient algorithms, while artificial intelligence enables the practical implementation of these models across a wide range of real-world applications.

Despite these advances, several challenges persist, including the need for more efficient mathematical frameworks, improved interpretability of intelligent systems, and effective approaches to handling large-scale and continuously evolving data. In this context, the present conference seeks to examine both the theoretical foundations and practical applications of applied mathematics and artificial intelligence, with particular emphasis on their interaction and integration in order to promote sustainable scientific and technological development.

As part of promoting advanced scientific research and encouraging interaction between applied mathematics and artificial intelligence, the National Conference on Applied Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence, organized by the Department of Mathematics at the University of Laghouat (Algeria), on May 6–7, 2026, is pleased to announce an outstanding scientific opportunity for participating researchers.

Following a rigorous peer-review process conducted by the conference’s scientific committee, six (06) of the best submitted papers will be selected and nominated for publication in a special issue of the journal Fractals entitled:
“Fractal Geometry and Scaling Laws in the Era of Artificial Intelligence.”

This special issue is led by Professor Salah Mahmoud Boulaaras (Qassim University, Saudi Arabia) as Lead Guest Editor, in collaboration with a distinguished team of international editors. Full details about the special issue and its scientific scope are available on the journal’s official website:
https://www.worldscientific.com/page/fractals/callforpapers24

Fractals is a well-established international journal in the field of applied mathematics and complex systems. It is ranked in the first quartile (Q1) in ISI/Web of Science databases and has the following scientific metric:

  • Impact Factor (2024): 2.9

Given that publication in the journal is subject to Article Processing Charges (APC), Professor Salah Mahmoud Boulaaras will provide financial support to cover the publication fees for the six selected papers, in order to support high-quality research and encourage researchers to submit outstanding scientific contributions.

This initiative represents an excellent opportunity for researchers to present their findings to a specialized scientific community and to contribute to advancing knowledge at the intersection of fractal geometry, scaling laws, and artificial intelligence. It also promotes interdisciplinary research and supports innovation in multiscale modeling and complex systems.
